A 29.6 carat blue diamond was retrieved from the Cullinan mine near Pretoria, South Africa, a few weeks ago. With a potential price tag of 10’s of millions, this is not the first notable diamond from this mine. The Cullinan Diamond, found in 1905 and weighing a whopping 3,106 carats, and the Star of Josephine, mined in 2008, were mined here as well.
The diamond is small enough to fit in your hand but is one of the largest of its kind. Considered to be “exceptional”, the market value of such this diamond could be between $15 and $20 million dollars.
