Invest in Gold
Gold has been considered a form of currency for over 5,000 years and has always been one of the most desired commodities. While paper money can depreciate in value as governments print more and increase supply, gold supply is intrinsically limited and therefore holds its value. The price of gold has historically responded to the fluctuations in the stock market; when the stock market falls, the price of gold goes up.
With the recent economic downturn, the price of gold has nearly doubled compared to its worth in 2005. With a stable increase in value that shows no sign of slowing down, investing in gold has proven to be a worthwhile venture.

Palladium is cheaper than 18kt gold?
In recent years, palladium has gained in popularity as a comparable, more economic alternative to platinum. Because jewelry price is determined largely by its mass, its lighter weight makes palladium significantly less expensive than platinum. The price of palladium fluctuates as all precious metals, but at this time (Jan ’09) it is about 30% of the price of gold. There is additional specialty labor involved in making jewelry with palladium, so fine jewelry sold in palladium should cost about 60% of the same item in gold.
Many jewelry makers prefer palladium because it’s softer and more malleable than pure platinum, making it easier to work with. Its dark grey coloring allows palladium to blend favorably with sterling silver pieces, and it retains its original shine longer than platinum (although it will eventually acquire the same dull, matte finish over time). Like white gold and platinum, palladium can be refinished to regain its original luster.
